About
the Artist Having had the opportunity to work both in research and at home, Mary Barrett has had a variety of freelance artistic projects. As a research microbiologist, both at Ayerst-Wyeth and Ortho Pharmaceutical, she has assisted in illustrating the pathology of arthritic disease and procedural mechanisms. On the "lighter side" of art she has enjoyed providing pen/ink, acrylic, iconic, and oil paintings to the community. Her recent concentrations are in transparent oils and fiber art (spinning). Mary received a BA in microbiology as a Henry Rutgers scholar and an Assoc/MLT from Brookdale Community College. She is currently studying Scientific Illustration at Arcadia University.
