Terry Goldstein began painting about 4 years ago as a means to fill the time when the requirements of his job made it necessary for him to live away from home for 5 days a week. He is home now, and he continues to pursue his love of painting as well as his love of photography.

Terry’s medium of choice is watercolor. He feels a deep affinity with watercolor for both its ability and unpredictability, but he will occasionally paint in acrylics. He also enjoys creating mixed media works using watercolor and pen & ink. Terry works from his home, sometimes using a combination of photos he has taken as a reference tool and sometimes painting solely from his imagination. “Many times I will combine aspects of several different photos of the same boat or barn into one painting and then add another boat or a few birds or a body of water that exists nowhere but in my imagination.”

Mostly a self-taught artist, he has also received training in a variety of media through workshops he has attended. His paintings and photographs hang in the homes of several friends and relatives and on the walls of his Living Room. He continues to learn by studying favorite artists and experimenting on his own with color, composition, and technique.
