About the Artist

Shan Hoffmann's interest in art flourished as a child. Private lessons after school moved her to further pursue her love of art. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in NY with a Fine Arts degree, concentrating in painting. Some of her collegiate works have been published in art books and professors still use slides of her pieces as examples for class.

Following graduation, she went to work as a graphic designer for a large web-based consulting firm in New York. She worked on look-and-feel images and designs for clients such as Goldman Sachs, Baxter and Standard and Poor's. After moving out of NYC, she continues to do freelance graphic design for a firm in Philadelphia. She also currently assists her husband at Hoffmann's Bake Shoppe in Allentown where she created the logo, store design, signage and marketing pieces.Although she has studied painting for many years, and teaches it, she leans towards illustration. In the near future, she will be pursuing her work as a full-time artist concentrating in illustration, painting and illustrated manuscript work.
