About the Artist

Allentown resident, Elizabeth Martin, has worked for 35 years as a freelance medical illustrator, traveling the US and as far away as Digon, France and Edinburgh, Scotland in order to capture innovative surgical procedures in her drawings.

Elizabeth has a Bachelor’s degree in biology and a Master’s degree from the University of Michigan in Medical and Biological Illustration.

Her work has appeared in pharmaceutical ads, medical journal articles and brochures, training CDs, web sites and in the 20 books she has illustrated. She also creates computer enhanced house portraits and mixed media “flora and fauna” illustrations.

Elizabeth prefers to work in graphite, pen and ink and colored pencil.
